Cubed: Discussion Area

Role

To support IVE's role to stimulate and nurture debate on the development of virtual education, Cubed has places for debate and discussion and other gettogethers.

The main discussion hall is to the east, close to the Ground Zero. There is also the Hill House further to the east. The welcoming hall to the north is also suitable for informal gatherings with its cafeteria and jukeboxes.

If you want to use program than AW for chatting, you can get programs like ICQ, Netmeeting and Powwow from the Download Hall.

Design

Discussion sites are located to the east and north of Ground Zero, because that seems like easiest way to head toward when entering a new world.

Design is cosy, warm, homey and inviting, to make people taking part in the conversation to feel relaxed. Textures are mainly warm sand, and glass to expand the view. There are chairs, decoration, etc. along all the walls, but all open in the center so that avatars have room to congregate in the usual conversational style circle.

Cafeteria with its teleports can be also seen as a "buffet" or "smorgasbord" of choices.
