This section is only here because I want to be able to edit TR's 3D player model (Lara Croft), and these files show what is possible in other 3D games and programs. I like customization and, hopefully when a TR level editor is created, the ability to change Lara Croft into another model (male or even just a free-floating camera) will be implemented. This would probably require new collision detection and character animations for a similarly-shaped humanoid model. But I think it would be neat to play the animals and other humans in the games, too.
Will somebody use the actual Lara Croft 3D model and make an accurate Half-Life Lara Croft player model?
3rd-Art's 3Darlings female 3Dmodels: "Women w. weapon" (lower left) bears a striking resemblance to Lara Croft.
With a bit of judicious editing and remapping it could be made to look more like the original. I shall remodel the upper torso and give it the aquamarine lycra body shape, and I shall re-colour the shorts and apply creases. With the addition of the backpack, some accurate weapons, and suitable facial expressions and poses, I hope to be able to capture the spirit of the original 3D model!
I'll send you some more pictures when all is done. I can't redistribute the mesh data, however. I had to pay for this figure, and I'll be breaking the licence agreement if I give away the mesh."
Tiger's Quake I Lara Team Mate Bot Models: From Harvey Harbicht: "[He's]...put a Lara skin on a Quake player model. Sounds and all. He also made one for the Enforcer model so you can either use Lara as a helper bot with the bot patch or an enemy monster as-is. The Lara/Player skin combined with the Chase-Cam lets you play 'Tomb Quaker'."
