Ok. People, i am not asking to No one to stop doing wherever you are
doing; if you are making a viewer or wherever tool then is ok, thanks.

I am not in any way critizen the work of anyone, all you deserve the credit for
your tools and all us are grateful with you.


This is just a general request to the people that want to start to make a new TR tool; the goal is make a way that someone can edit/create new TR levels, so if you are asking in what way you can contribute, consider the fallow task.

This is in my opinion the task that need to be cover to make able
to edit/create new levels and can be coded in one or more independiently tools:


1.- Textures
--------------
We need a tool where we can modify/add the textures in the levels,
Stefan has Jack.exe, and Popov has TRviewer, this 2 are good enough
for this task (i use Popov'trviewer), but if you want to contribute in some way,
you are welcome.


2.-Room Meshes
---------------

The vertex table, the Reactangles table and the Triangle tables need to
be edited if we want to change how look the rooms, right now there is none
program that can edit the room meshes, Rview export the meshes to a DXF so we can use a extenal CAD program, but no everyone has a expensive CAD program.
TReditor also create Room meshes but in a cube way, this is ok for Houses kind rooms, but not for Caves rooms, so if you can make a kind a CAD program that read and edit the room meshes, (position,light and textures) will be very appreciate.

3.- Portals View
-----------------
Each room has a Portals view table, there is the poisition, orientation and
what adyacent room is showing. This table dont has the command to make lara change the room, just show a window to the other room.
I have cover this table in the TReditor, i will release this weekend a treditor
with this option, but may be you can implement this a a better way.

4.- Solid Room
---------------
This is a litle tricky, maybe this need to be implemented at te same time that
the room meshes.
In this section we define where Lara can walk, and also it define what happen when lara step over a tile.
Mainly my TReditor try cover this section, and the next treditor release will be
the last that use the 2d interface, after this weekend i will spent time rewriting the interface to a 3d way.

5.- Source Lights
------------------
Each room has a source light table on in, this table has where in the room the
source light is, the orientation, etc.
Right now there is none Tool from anyone where we can add/change the source light for each room.
So if you can help us with this, will be Great.

6.- Statics objects.
----------------------
Each room has Static Object table, in this table we define what ornaments, chairs, tables, statues, pilars etc are in the room.
will be nice to see what statics are availibles in the levels, and change it position or add it to others rooms.
Right now there is none Tool from anyone where we can add/change Statics Objects.
So if you can help us with this, will be Great.


7.- Floor data Commands
------------------------
This is a hard section, here we define what comands we will use in the level,
we need to show the availibles commands, select one or more commands and apply it to a tile in the Solid/tile room section.
This sections is the Hart of the Game fun in my opinion, and need to be very
analized before start coding a tool for it.
I support this section partialy in Treditor just for Slant floor and ceiling.


8.-Object/Character meshes
---------------------------
In this section we see what objects and characters are in the level, stefan and E.Popov make a great work with this section.
We maybe need change how look some characters, Popov is working on a 3DS exporter so somebody can edit the characters.
Also we will need a way to include characters from a level to other; i want a level with Wolfs and Lions for example.


9.- Boxes, Ground and fly zones.
--------------------------------
This is a very important section; We need this i we want to create a new room.
TReditor make new rooms but without ground and fly zones for it, so it is imposible to include Animals on in.
So this section need to be cover before we can add Animals to new rooms.


10.- Animated textures
-----------------------
This is a ease section, i have a litle tool in DOS mode but all we want visual
tool, so we can define new animated textures in the level.
So if you can implement a visual tools will be nice.


11.- Items table.
---------------------------
This is a important section.
Here we define where Lara will start in the level, (position editor program edit this in the savegame but no in the PHD/TR2 file). also in this table we need to define where we want to put the medi-packs, armos, guns and animals/monsters, Doors, switch etc.
Right now there is none Tool from anyone where we can add/change Items to any room.

Maybe there is more section but i my opinion this are the most important to be cover if we want to change/edit levels.
If you are a great programer and have a lot a time to code all the whole editor then all we will be grateful with you, but if not, please help us with any section.
