If we are considering to stop the treditor project now that CORE
will realease the room editor, please consider this:
- We don't have the room editor from Core yet.
- We don't know if the room editor will be a REAL FULL
FUNCTIONAL room editor or another limited/restringed or
some tool like "Build a Tomb" from the last year
*we don't know if the room editor will generate independient
levels ready to play that can be downloaded from internet.
- It is most likely that the room editor will support TR5 ONLY.
(are we realy needing a level editor for tr1-tr4 ? )
- How much hardaware capacity need the room editor from core?
*Pentium iii 800 mhz ?
*256Mb Ram ?
*10Gb free Hard disk space ?
*16mb video card hardware accelerated only.
(the specs above will take me 8 month salary).
- How complex the room editor will be?, can everybody use it?
or do we need to be a 3D MODELER ARTIST?
if the levels are drawn drawing faces vertex-by-vertex in 3d space then will
take to much time to build a level for casual users.
So, until we evaluate the room editor from Core, there is no reason
to stop doing wherever we are doing; and if the room editor is not suitable
for my hardware specs, or my 3d skills then i will steel using my tr tools.
